A Pair of OIl Paintings, 19th Century. Naive Lion and a Tiger

£1,490.00

A charming pair of Victorian Oil Paintings

Signed and dated W.H. Crookall, 1896.

Each painting : 101cm x 69cm (inc. frame)

The First Painting :

A Seated Tiger - titled - No Road. Surrounded by mountains, with the tiger sitting upon a path surrounded either side by green foliage, a semi jungle theme - very similar to the style of Henri Rousseau.

The 2nd Painting - A Lion - Titled - The Last Ramble

A Lion lying in the middle of a path surrounded by woodland/ jungle. Leaves and Ferns painted in various deep greens and reds with a mountain landscape in the background.

These really must be sold as a pair as I don't think I could bear to separate them.

They have been framed in a black with a faded copper colour wood frame.
